Thursday Artsday

Wherever I go, I try to amass a stock of street art photos because something about street art really strikes me as wonderful. I guess it's the whole art in public places thing, or the performance art thing. Street art, even if it's straight up vandalism (which I don't condone), still feels politically and emotionally charged, while a lot of studio art too often feels like it's just "art-for-art's-sake."

There's a lot of sticker art here that only boasts the "artist's" name, or advertisements for tourists' personal websites, and that's not impressive to me. So it's been a slow-growing collection, but these are my favorites so far.

Minimalistic stuff has been catching my eye lately - well, for the past year or so - which feels so unlike me, but I'm going with it. Feeling like this might come in handy having three kids.
